Role of Families

NCS has spent the summer anticipating a return to campus. At the same time, our plan’s success will ultimately rely on families as much as on the actions of faculty and staff. “Protecting the Nest” and keeping everyone healthy will call on all of us to work together.

In particular, we need your family’s support in four main areas.

Health monitoring

  • Complete health forms ASAP and submit them to the Health Portal
  • Keep all immunizations up-to-date
  • Conduct daily temperature and symptom checks at home
  • Keep your child home if she feels sick or has been exposed to COVID-19
    • COVID-19 symptoms may include
      • Oral temperature of 100 degrees or above
      • Diarrhea
      • Unexplained fatigue
      • Nausea and/or vomiting
    • Consult your health professional ASAP

Encourage family adherence to mitigation strategies

  • Wear a mask whenever not inside your home
  • Wash hands often during the day
  • Practice sneeze and cough hygiene every time, even with a mask on
  • Avoid sharing of food or personal supplies
  • Wash masks daily

Help limit virus exposure when out and about

  • Make a habit of social distancing whenever not inside your home
  • Avoid unnecessary trips or travel

Communication with NCS

  • Alert NCS of any positive COVID-19 test result in your family
  • Notify NCSAbsences of any medical reason behind your child’s absence
